FIELD: machine engineering, possibly operations for working small-diameter holes in different types of materials by means of axial tool. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of applying ultrasonic oscillations upon cutting fluid fed by sprinkling directly in working zone; in order to provide it, applying oscillations upon sleeve of jig for transmitting oscillations to tool having low rigidity. It enhances efficiency of working due to intensified penetration of cutting fluid to working zone by action of ultrasonic oscillations causing occurrence in working zone of instantaneous high pressure values. It causes formation and oscillation of gaseous cavities and shock waves providing macro- and microflows of cutting fluid with intensity increased at activation of cutting fluid directly in cutting zone. EFFECT: enhanced operational conditions of cutting tool, lowered temperature in cutting zone and, therefore, improved strength of tool. 2 cl, 1 dwg
