FIELD: resin industry. SUBSTANCE: invention provides a method for preparing sodium salts of sulfoalkyl esters of carbohydrate materials, which can be used as drilling fluid property regulators in oil and gas production, for stabilizing cement mortars in building industry, and as flotation reagents in mining industry. Lingo-carbohydrate material consisting of cellulose, lignin, and hemicellulose (non-separated into constituents) is activated for 1 h with 28% sodium hydroxide solution at 80-82 C. Activated material is affected for 2 h by double molar excess of equimolar mixture of chlorohexa-β,β-dichloroethyl ether and sodium sulfite in boiling isopropyl alcohol. EFFECT: achieved complete consumption of lingo-carbohydrate material, enabled wasteless technology, avoided separation of lingo-carbohydrate material into constituents, and reduced expenses. 3 tbl
