FIELD: communications engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed method involves assignment of unique header expanding code and unique long code concatenated with short code associated with signature to each sector of cell. Period chosen for long code may be relatively long in time (for instance it may take from hours to days). Lengths of transmission time intervals are set to be equal to lengths of headers. Hence, mobilestation arbitrary access requests can be synchronized for starting and initiating time intervals and detected within header periods by means of matched filter incorporated in base-station random access receiver. Random-access request data field of mobile station is transferred during time intervals next to headers and received with aid of pager disposed in base station. EFFECT: provision for data extension in data field. 20 cl, 8 dwg
