FIELD: electrolytic etching of metal strips, particularly, strips of special steel, titanium, aluminium or nickel. SUBSTANCE: methods includes passing of current through strip indirectly without conducting contact between strip and electrodes. Invention is characterized by the fact that strip is moved vertically, and between electrodes and strip, vertical gap is provided, and electrolytic fluid is supplied to said gap, in this event, anode-cathode couple is located at strip and connected via rectifier.
