FIELD: manufacture of nonwoven filtering materials. SUBSTANCE: nonwoven material comprises two layers. One layer is made from hydrophilic modified polycaproamide filament and other ion- exchange layer is made from mixture of anion-exchange modified filament based on grafted copolymer of polycaproamide and polydimethylaminoethyl methacrylate and cation-exchange filament based on grafted copolymer of polycaproamide and polymethacrylic acid. Nonwoven material further comprises carcass made in the form of fabric from hydrophilic modified polycaproamide filament, with weight ratio of carcass layer, hydrophilic layer and ion- exchange layer being 1:(0.6-1):(2-2.4). Nonwoven material is used for manufacture of filtering members employed in gas trapping units. EFFECT: improved protective properties of material used for cleaning dust-laden air-and-gas flows by increased trapping efficiency with regard to solid particles as well as alkaline and acidic gases. 1 tbl
