FIELD: mechanisms for cutting metallic tubes. SUBSTANCE: in both variants of mechanism outer and inner non-rotating cutters are used. In one variant both cutters are mounted stationarily. In second variant outer cutter is mounted with possibility of continuous reciprocation motion in radial direction relative to lengthwise axis of tube. In variants of method outer cutter in cutting position moves behind inner cutter. Tube is imparted to rotation around lengthwise axis. In first variant of method both cutters are stationarily mounted. In second variant of method outer cutter is subjected to reciprocation motion.
