FIELD: ceramics, inorganic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method for preparing ceramic samples based on vanadium oxide V2O3 alloyed with chrome oxide Cr2O3. Such composition as a solid solution under the temperature effect shows spasmodic phase transition metal - insulator or metal semiconductor. These samples can be used as working members for formers of powerful electric impulses, contactless breakers, thermoresisters and so on. Method for preparing solid solutions of vanadium and chrome sesquioxides involves stirring oxide powders followed by additional reduction in hydrogen flow and their forming after that sample is placed into form filled with powder-like medium consisting of boron nitride and isostatic hot pressing under vacuum at heating temperature 1400-1600 C and pressure 250-300 kg/cm2 is carried out. Invention provides rise of samples density, reduced time of technological process and preparing samples covered by protective film.
