FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to contactless breakers to form high-power current pulses thanks to sharpening of its front with use of materials showing properties of phase transition metal-insulator or metalsemiconductor under effect of temperature. Technical result of solving of this problem lies in shortening of length of formed current pulse and in reduced overall dimensions of device. This technical result is achieved since known device to form current pulse carrying at least one current peaker placed in parallel between buses of transmission line in front of load, electrodes and at least one working element made of material with phase transition metal-insulator or metal-semiconductor is so arranged that working elements of peaker are positioned in zigzag channel formed by electrodes. Electrodes have protrusions and grooves and are located in opposition with displacement and formation of zigzag channel. Electrodes can be made sectional elements. Interlayers can be placed in grooves of electrodes on their external side with reference to zigzag channel. Working element can be fabricated in the form of set of plates produced from ceramic material of solid solution of sesquioxides of vanadium and chromium. EFFECT: shortening of length of formed current pulse and reduced overall dimensions of device. 4 cl, 4 dwg
