FIELD: inorganic compounds technology. SUBSTANCE: mixture composed of lithium hydride, iron-family metal oxide, and alkali metal perchlorate is subjected to high-temperature treatment carried out in burning mode. If necessary, mixture can be supplemented by an alloying additive in the form of metal M and/or M oxide wherein M is Li, Na, Ca, Sr, Ba, Al, Cr, V, Ce, In, Mn. When burning wave is passed, sample is washed out in drinking water to remove by-product. Invention can be used for manufacturing electrode materials for chemical power sources. EFFECT: increased productivity of process at moderated power consumption and improved electrochemical parameters of electrode materials. 3 cl, 2 dwg, 4 ex
