FIELD: powder metallurgy, electrical engineering for active anodic materials in solid-body chemical sources of current. SUBSTANCE: method comprises cleaning metal pieces of lithium, crushing said pieces, using samples of powdery boron and crushed lithium in amount 38-56 wt parts of boron per each 100 wt parts of lithium and charging said samples into reactor. Reactor is made airtight, air is evacuated to residual pressure of 10,1 kPa, preheating is started first to 250-400 C at rate of 3-10 C/min and then to 600-650 C. Reaction mixture is thereafter cooled first to 500-550 and then to room temperature in inert gas.
