FIELD: nondestructive inspection of mechanical properties of traveling strip. SUBSTANCE: technique testing mechanical properties of sheets consists in measurement of characteristics of hot- and cold-rolled strip and in computation of average mechanical properties of rolled stock by them. Distribution of residual longitudinal and lateral stresses is measured additionally during strip machining in cold-rolling shop and deviation of mechanical properties from average value in width and length of strip is established by solving of linear equation. Actual distribution of mechanical properties by length and width of strip is found on basis of obtained data. EFFECT: provision for test of mechanical properties of sheets in process of production over entire length and width of strip. 6 dwg
