FIELD: building and operating space communication systems. SUBSTANCE: proposed method involves deployment of base space vehicles on orbit and formation of plurality of virtual communication-signal repeaters from them. Virtual repeaters are disposed in space areas forming line for these transmitting signals among users desired at current time moment and are controlled from one or more base space vehicles. Virtual repeaters are formed by means of directed material streams through mentioned space areas and controlled by varying parameters an/or structure of mentioned directed material streams. Proposed communication system has its directed material stream producers (particle and microbody accelerators, electromagnetic wave sources, and the like) and devices for guiding directed material streams to mentioned space areas installed on board base space vehicles. Producers and their units provide for producing directed material streams with adjustable space-time and physical (chemical) characteristics to form virtual repeaters with desired radiation patterns. Proposed method makes it possible to form desired global or local network for data exchange among users on ground and/or in space at any time moment using small number of space vehicles.
