METHOD FOR OPTIMIZING PROCESS FOR MAKING ROLLED PRODUCT Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: rolled stock production, namely optimization of process of hot and(or) cold rolling of strips. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of discretely measuring technological parameters of rolling strip; measuring angular velocity values of rolling rolls of rolling stands and of rollers of roller tables; determining linear speed of strip and separating predetermined number of equal-length pieces of strip for further averaging at least of three values of measured technological parameters for each piece; setting standard portion of strip length divided by pieces for given assortment of rolled products; additionally determining consumer's properties of each piece of rolled strip depending upon averaged values of measured technological parameters of rolling process for each piece; comparing determined consumer's properties with preset limits of those properties; finding portion of strip length in which consumer's properties are in preset range; using said technological parameters as reference values at rolling strips of the same or almost the same assortment if received portion of strip length is no less than standard portion or correcting technological parameters of new strip if received portion of strip length is less than standard one.
