FIELD: surge arresters for protecting accessories of contact-system foundations and supports. SUBSTANCE: spark-gap arrester designed to protect accessories of contact-system foundations and supports against circulating currents and also to pass current to rail circuit in case of insulation breakdown in contact system has split case of two parts made of insulating material for their joining together through threaded joint. Upper part of case has inner cavity and bottom one is provided with longitudinal gas vents filled with silicone sealing compound. Case accommodates high- and low-voltage electrodes coaxially fixed therein in position. Shields abutting against ends of electrodes are disposed in immediate proximity of one another and are facing each other; each shield has copper disk and steel disk. Steel disks of shields are facing each other and are separated by insulating spacer with hole in its center forming spark gap. Copper disk of one of shields has annular flange to encompass steel disk. EFFECT: simplified design, facilitated manufacture and servicing, reduced cost of arrester. 1 cl, 2 dwg
