FIELD: metallurgy, particularly, production of bimetallic strips. SUBSTANCE: method of steel strip coating with antifriction powder mixture by rolling includes heating of aluminum-plated steel strip in preheating zone up to temperature of 523-553K; rolling together with antifriction powder mixture containing; %: Al 60-70; Pb 27-35; Cu 3-5 with drawing of 1.25-1.5 and simultaneous finish heating in deformation zone up to 703-753 K by passing of electric current through strip and directed from roll to roll and cooling at rate of, at least, 100-120 C/s. Invention provides for making of antifriction layer 600-650 mcm thick with ductility higher and friction coefficient lower by 20-25% than standard inserts, and replacement of antifriction metal Sn with Pb reduces cost of material by approximately 30%.
