FIELD: physics of high-density energies. SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for measurement of strength of current in high-power electric physical installations. Facility measuring heavy currents has source of luminous radiation polarized linearly, turns of two light guides, polarization- insensitive connector of light guides, analyzer and register. Turns of light guides embrace wire with measured current in opposite directions. Source of luminous radiation is optically coupled to input of first light guide which output is optically coupled through light guide connector to input of second light guide which output is optically connected to analyzer. Output of the later is connected to register. Light guides are produced from magnetooptical materials with Verdet constant correspondingly V1, V2, V2 = V1-T/2Imax where T is period of unambiguity of conversion function of analyzer; Imax is upper limit of range of measured currents. EFFECT: expanded upper boundary of range of measured currents. 1 dwg
