Abstract RU 2186448 C1

FIELD: protection of industrial buildings and structures as well as outdoor electrical equipment against atmospheric electricity. SUBSTANCE: lightning protector has central lightning rod, central ground rod, side rods, multisection lightning arrester, generator arrester, and insulating housing. Protector housing has transversal ribs on outer surface. Sections of outer arrester are set on side rods and jut beyond transversal ribs of housing. Housing accommodates storage units. Each storage unit is assembled of series-connected storage capacitor and generator arrester; this circuit interconnects storage units in series during parallel connection of charging resistor of each unit in parallel with this circuit. Upper storage unit is electrically coupled with lower plate of forming capacitor at point of connection of generator arrester and charging resistor. Upper plate of forming capacitor is connected to central lightning rod and upper side rods. Points of connection of generator arresters and upper plates of storage capacitors are coupled with respective next side rods. Lower plate of lower storage-unit capacitor is connected to central ground rod and to lower section of outer multisection arrester. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of lightning protection. 1 dwg
