FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: high-voltage power transmission lines (HVPTL) are equipped with wire tightening system by means of tension springs connected in-series with power cable. Inside the spring there are spherical hammers to shake icing off at spring tension. Lightning rods are installed and lightning arrester wires are connected to the ground through rod spark gaps or tubular arresters for prevention of lightning impact on HVPTL poles.
EFFECT: reducing of power losses and improving lightning protection.
