FIELD: space equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of space technology and can be used in electric propulsions, and also in technological plasma accelerators used in vacuum-plasma technology. In a plasma engine with a closed electron drift containing a discharge chamber with external and internal annular walls, forming an accelerating channel, a hollow gas distributor with supply channels and working gas supply apertures, an anode with mostly external and internal visors, located in the accelerating channel, the magnetic core, internal and external magnetic poles, forming a working inter-pole gap, at least one source of the magnetizing force and at least one cathodic compensator, the visor is designed such, that an annular gap is formed between its overhanging edge and the external surface of the hollow gas distributor. In the visors, the distribution openings of the working fluid can be made, which in the azimuthal direction alternate with the previous working gas supply ports. It is preferable that the total hydraulic resistance of the distribution openings exceeds the total hydraulic resistance of the previous working fluid supply holes.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the reliability and extend the range of operation of the plasma accelerator.
