FIELD: food and sugar industry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method for preparing milk of lime with required density. Method involves slaking lime with water at temperature 80-95 C taken in the ratio 100 mass parts of lime and 80-100 mass parts of water to form slaked lime followed by its cooling to 80-95 C and mixing with defined water amount at temperature 60-85 C. Water mass is calculated by the formula: where mв means water mass used for mixing with slaked lime, kg; ms.l. means mass of cooled slaked lime before its mixing, kg; B means mass part of free water in cooled slaked lime before its mixing, % to mass of slaked lime; p means density of milk of lime, kg/dm3. Water evaporating in mixing slaked lime or with sugar-containing solution is recovered to mixing mass. Steam evolving in the process of mixing water with slaked lime is condensed and condensate is fed to mixing mass. Invention provides stable attainment of required density of milk of lime, precision of its dosing to the solution and enhancement of degree of the solution purification.
