FIELD: electric arc welding processes and equipment, namely devices for pulse power supply of welding arc, possibly in different branches of machine engineering for welding operations. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes actuating device, unit for comparing electric arc voltage with setting voltage; connected in series unit for forming duration of pauses; relay unit with two terminals; unit for forming pulse duration. One terminals of relay member is directly connected with actuating device; its other terminal is connected with actuating device through unit for forming pulse duration. Inlet of unit for forming pause duration is connected with outlet of circuit for comparing electric arc voltage with voltage set during pause. Short circuit pickup operates in phase with unit for comparing electric arc voltage with voltage set during pause. Inlet of short circuit pickup is connected with second outlet of unit for comparing arc voltage with setting voltage; outlet of said pickup is connected through amplifier with additional inlet of unit for forming pulse duration. EFFECT: possibility for limiting electric arc pulse duration at short circuit, prevention of electrode metal burst-out, enhanced quality of welding. 3 dwg
