FIELD: resin industry. SUBSTANCE: xylose is isolated chromatographically from sulfite cooking liquor containing, e.g., xylose and xylonic acid. Yield of xylose is determined by content of xylose and xylonic acid in cooking liquor as well as amount of base cation used for sulfite cooking.
