SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of working over-axle lugs; arranging on surface heated up to forging temperature of steel cover plate having overlaps extending outside contour of supporting surface; upsetting cover plate by action of static load at folding overlaps towards walls of part; performing working of over-axle lugs at reducing their height until size no more than depth of vertical upsetting value of cover plate; folding overlaps outside edges of horizontal wall in zone of transition of box cross section of upper land of part to H-beam cross section.
