FIELD: manufacturing equipment of railway road workshops for repairing cargo cars, namely for upsetting wear-resistant cover plates heated up to temperature 850 - 900 C. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes housing with grooves for placing guides of journal boxes of lateral frame; power cylinder; spinning tool mounted in ball bearing of rod and having two plates mutually joined by means of articulation joint and provided with spacing spring between them; two wedges. Lower plate of spinning tool with working face whose shape corresponds to that of supporting surface of port of journal box includes at its long sides three pairs of inclined protrusions directed downwards and matched with lugs. Through drilled openings of said lugs axles are passed in parallel relative to longitudinal edges of lower plate. Two pairs of clamps are mounted on said axles and they are provided with levers jointly secured to upper plate. Two of said levers have flat working surface and other two have - - shaped working surface and they are mounted with possibility for rotating around axles at changing distance between plates in order to bend (at upsetting of wear-resistant cover plate) its protruded edges for closely pressing them to vertical surfaces of lateral frame and in zones of transition of box cross section to H- beam cross section folding them for closely pressing to inner surface of lower flange of H-beam cross section. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and labor condition, improved quality of cover plates repaired by upsetting and mounting without welding in hot state. 4 dwg
