FIELD: railway transport; freight car bogie.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to repair of overspring beams of freight car bogies. Cover plates 3 made in form of wear-resistant steel plates with extensions for bending behind upper and lower edges of inclined planes 2 of overspring beam and heated to temperatures of hot plastic deformation are placed on overspring beams and upset by application of normally distributed static load. Extensions are bent upwards behind edges of inclined planes with upsetting and downwards, into milled longitudinal grooves. After removal of load, cover plates are cooled with appearance of interference in cross direction in inclined planes.
EFFECT: reduced labor input at repair of overspring beams.
