FIELD: oil producing and oil-and-gas processing industry, power engineering and other industries. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pipe valves and fittings to be used as shutoff devices on high pressure lines. Proposed gate valve contains housing with welded-to main line flanges and cover, and shutoff member connected with drive. Central flange of drop-forged housing is provided with cavities made in one plane with end face surfaces of housing. Central flange of housing is arranged at minimum possible distance from axis of main passage of gate valve. Drop-forget cover is dome-shaped. Inner space of cover follows shape of section of shutoff member. Flange of cover is arranged at distance from central flange of housing providing fitting of cover fasteners without increasing overall dimensions of its flange in diametric direction. EFFECT: improved manufacturability of gate valve and reduced mass and overall dimensions of gate valve. 3 dwg
