FIELD: production of refractory powders from high-carbonate raw materials. SUBSTANCE: method includes charging of calcined material, drying, decarbonization, heating, calcinations and cooling of material. Material calcinations with value of content of carbonates related to mass unit of calcined substance not exceeding 50% from initial, is carried out at temperature of 1750-2000C. Content of carbonates in calcined material may be reduced by introduction of partially decarbonized material from systems of furnace gas cleaning, heat exchangers and/or kilns, and/or material containing no carbonates. EFFECT: increased specific output and quality of products with reduced expenditures for its production. 2 cl, 1 tbl
