FIELD: neutralization of exhaust gases of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: system has the following components located in indicated sequence in direction of exhaust gases flow: the first water catcher 5, honeycomb member 7 with electric heating and honeycomb member 8 with catalytically active coating serving, at least, for oxidation catalysis. Honeycomb member 7 with electric heating and honeycomb member 8 with electric heating and honeycomb member 8 with catalytically active coating may also fully or partially form single design unit. Similar system may be installed as small additional system behind three-component catalytic neutralizer of exhaust gases for neutralization of exhaust gases during start of cold engine. Method of system operation control provides for heating of honeycomb member with electrical heating started not later than at the moment of start of internal combustion engine.
