FIELD: technological processes in machine engineering, finishing gear wheels. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of rotating worked gear wheel closely engaged with toothed grinding and honing tool having working toothed rim with thinned teeth coated with abrasive layer whose thickness is in range 1.5 - 2 mm. Tool is mounted on tool spindle and it performs oscillation motions causing reciprocation movements in zone of contact of working toothed rim with worked gear wheel. In order to enlarge manufacturing possibilities, toothed grinding and honing tool is mounted with possibility of separate rotation in journal of tool spindle. Axis of said journal is inclined by acute angle relative to axis of tool spindle. It is possible to control frequency of reciprocation movements of toothed rim of grinding and honing tool by changing revolution number of tool spindle.
