FIELD: manufacturing processes in machine engineering, namely teeth finishing operations.
SUBSTANCE: method is realized with use of toothed diamond-abrasive tool having boss joined with toothed rim separated by parts in the form of discs arranged normally relative to boss axis and mounted with possibility of changing their position relative to tool axis and relative to adjacent discs. In order to enhance efficiency and quality of finishing gear wheels due to increased contact surface area of engaged profiles of tool and finished teeth, boss is mounted in skew sleeve having inner and outer cylindrical surfaces whose axes cross by angle α. Toothed rim of each part is made of springy steel strip onto which diamond-abrasive is applied. Discs are in the form of elastic members. Tool is subjected to reciprocation motion; blank is subjected to in-feed motion. Teeth are finished in mode of "continuous oscillation" when boss and skew sleeve are mutually fixed or in mode of "variable oscillation frequency" when boss and skew sleeve are freely rotate one relative to other. Angle α is determined according to given relation.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and accuracy of teeth finishing.
