FIELD: distillation of liquids. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes delivery of liquid to evaporator formed by open chute and heating liquid at mixing it over evaporator by supply of heat to one wall of open chute. Vapor formed at heating liquid and distillate formed at evaporation are removed. At delivery of liquid to be distilled, flow is formed at open chute inlet at ratio of maximum width of its cross section to maximum height of its cross section no less than 0.1 and no more than 10.0. Device proposed for realization of this method includes cylindrical housing, evaporator made in form of open chute located over cylindrical helical line, heating element, vapor evacuation unit and distillate evacuation unit. One side wall of open chute is formed by side wall of housing. Heating element is located coaxially on the outside of housing. Maximum width of flow section of open chute is no less than 0.1 and no more than 10.0 of maximum height of flow section of open chute.
