FIELD: fast drying of various moisture-saturated fluid and suspension materials; drying sludge in production of cement clinker and substances of high viscosity (milk, blood, albumin). SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes delivery of fluid and suspension material into gravity descending layer of strong grainy ballast during filtration of heat-transfer agent in it simultaneously in direct flow, counter flow and crossing flow. Plant proposed for realization of this method includes revolving drum which is connected with vertical chamber by means of gas duct; said vertical chamber is provided with longitudinal walls and perforated walls made in form of shelves mounted one above another forming parallel vertical rows; shelves are secured in longitudinal walls and are connected with gas duct of revolving drum and exhaust gas ducts through ports. Revolving drum is provided with screen at unloading end. Gas duct of revolving drum is connected with ports on two opposite sides. Gas duct is provided with burners.
