FIELD: manufacture of photoemissive devices. SUBSTANCE: manufacturing process includes pre-manufacture of photocathode in separate activating envelope, arrangement of activating envelope and case-shaped part of device in carry-setting gateway chamber, displacement of case- shaped part through gate valve to separate pre-degassed carry-setting degassing chamber, degassing of device case-shaped part, opening of activating enclosure, displacement of case- shaped part of device and activating envelope through gate valve to pre-degassed common carry setting chamber, connection of case-shaped part of device to photocathode through sealed joint. Single pre-degassing of carry setting chambers when putting device in operation makes it possible to dispense with degassing chambers during every next loading cycle which raises capacity by two and more times.
