FIELD: electron vacuum equipment. SUBSTANCE: process of manufacture of electron-optical converter with direct transfer of image includes periodic group loading of screen-body units into sluice chamber, their subsequent degassing in superhigh vacuum thermal degassing chamber and electron degassing in superhigh vacuum assembly chamber, periodic group loading of containers with multialkali photocathodes into vacuum assembly chamber and jointing of photocathodes with screen-body units in superhigh vacuum assembly chamber and unloading chamber by way of pressing through cold indium gasket and unloading of sealed vacuum units. Two-stage pressing through cold indium gasket is used according to invention. In this case short-time prepressing of each assembled vacuum unit is conducted in superhigh vacuum assembly chamber and final pressurization of vacuum units is carried out in unloading chamber by way of group recompaction of prepressed vacuum units. Device for realization of process includes unloading chamber of group recompaction of vacuum units of electron-optical converters.
