FIELD: processing space- time signals, primarily hydroacoustic ones. SUBSTANCE: method involves shaping of antenna signals in the form of two-dimensional data array in time reading - antenna number coordinates and execution of set of following operations: parallel Fourier transformation with respect to time coordinate, termwise multiplication of result obtained by first bivariate function; parallel Fourier transformation with respect to space coordinate followed by termwise multiplication by second bivariate function, and reversible Fourier transformation with respect to space coordinate; in the process signals are given spectral analysis in broad frequency band both in far and near coverage areas of antenna. First and second bivariate functions dictate directivity-characteristic shaping parameters and include antenna geometry and signal characteristics, as well as target distance. EFFECT: enhanced precision of shaping antenna directivity characteristics during spectral signal analyses in broad frequency band. 1 cl, 3 dwg
