METHOD DIRECTION-FINDING AND MULTICHANNEL DIRECTION FINDER Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

Abstract RU 2258241 C2

FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: device can be used detection systems and direction finding of radio-wave radiation sources. Radio signals are detected and found by means of receiving radio signals due to multi-element aerial system disposed randomly in space, and transformed by multi-channel aerial element receiver with common heterodyne for all the channels. Then spectral characteristics of received signals are subject to comparison. Aerial system is made of identical aerial elements which form random length aerial array where elements are disposed rigidly one against another. By means of multi-channel receiver the difference in phases of signal realization are measured simultaneously which signals were received by two adjacent aerial elements. Then complex spectral characteristics are compared and evaluation of maximal truth of direction of signal arrival is found as a single vector in three-dimensional coordinate system. Device has aerial system composed by identical elements 1.1, 1.2,..., 1N; aerial element multi-channel receiver 2, analog-to-digital converter 4, Fourier conversion unit 5, device 6 memorizing spectrum components for all channels, roll-in calculator 7, direction-finding calculator 8, sync pulse oscillator 3 which synchronizes operation of all the units of direction finder.

EFFECT: improved speed of operation of direction finding.
