FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method comes to comparing rotation relative to longitudinal axis, radial infeeding and reciprocating motion to tool consisting of body in form of bushing with through radial slots and carrying part with working element in form of elastic metal tape. Speed of rotation of tool is changed to adjust radial infeeding. Tool is used in which elastic metal tape is coiled into ring to form corrugations outer parts of which form intermittent cylindrical surface in contact with surface of hole to be machined, and inner parts of corrugations are secured in said slots of bushing. EFFECT: increased accuracy and efficiency of machining, reduced calorific intensity of process owing to intermittent zone of cutting and possibility of adjustment of radial infeeding, simplified design of tool. 4 cl, 3 dwg
