FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical machining of materials, mainly non-metallic ones, i.e. to cutting of blanks into plates by diamond cutoff disks with inner or outer cutting edge. Method comes to feeding rotating cutoff edge onto blank, delivery of lubricating-and-cooling liquid into machining zone and onto non-machined end face of cut plate in direction opposite to direction of plate deflection. Nozzle to deliver lubricating-and-cooking liquid on to non-machined end face of cut plate is displaced in the same direction as direction of feeding of cutoff disk and together with cutoff disk. Distance between periphery of cutoff disk and axis of said nozzle measured in direction of disk feed is maintained constant. EFFECT: provision of stable and minimum depth of defective layer formed on end face of plate after cutting owing to provision of constant conditions of force action of jet of lubricating-and-cooling material onto non-machined end face of cut plate. 2 dwg
