FIELD: biotechnology, microbiology, amino acids. SUBSTANCE: L-threonine and L-valine are prepared by culturing microorganism Escherichia coli. After accumulation L-amino acids are extracted from cultural fluid. The strain with the additional enhanced capacity to produce L-amino acids due to elevation of activity of protein encoded by gene b1242 is used as a producer. The strain Escherichia coli VL2054(pYCHE) can be used as producer of L-threonine, and the strain Escherichia coli H-81(pYCHE) can be used as producer of L-valine.
