FIELD: metallurgy; blast furnace cooling systems. SUBSTANCE: proposed cooler is split in construction; it consists of housing and cover; housing is made in form of steel plate where one or several cooling passages of rectangular section are made; these passages are separated from each other by longitudinal and transversal walls. Total area of cooling passages is equal to 03-0.7 of area of cooler. Cooling reagent inlet and outlet holes made in steel plate are connected with passages; rigidly mounted in these holes are coaxial branch pipes which are additionally secured on plate by means of rings; plate is provided with longitudinal projections and recesses on surface of plate which is in contact with cover; these projections and recesses form stable connection with cover and gaskets are laid over entire perimeter for making this connection perfectly tight. Cover is made from metal possessing high thermal conductivity, copper for example; it is provided with horizontal slots on external side which form finned working surface. EFFECT: reduced consumption of copper; low cost of cooler. 4 cl, 5 dwg, 1 tbl
