FIELD: page entry in expanded-spectrum communication system. SUBSTANCE: method involves scanning of large window of one pseudonoise signal element shift hypotheses; shift hypotheses are produced by pseudonoise train generator using pager controller. In the process energy of compressed train is found which is compressed by means of compressor, and pilot signal is found in threshold device by its location; threshold device holds one of signal element shifts of page window; then pager controller functions to search for subset of shift hypotheses or small window.
