FIELD: wood-working industry for slitting of round forest. SUBSTANCE: the method supposes a step-by-step cutting-out from a log at least by one saw blade of lumbers of preset dimensions with a saw cut of the log during relative reciprocate along the log at least of one saw blade at least in two cut planes, control of installation of each saw blade and before each cut by a microprocessor control system by the command of the operator from the control panel, preliminary input of the nomenclature of the required lumbers in the computer and criterion of optimization of sawing, assignment for each log of its zone of sawing optimization, selection at least on one end face of the log at least of one point lying on the boundary of the preset zone of optimization, and referencing according to the selected point of optimization of sawing to the machine coordinate system, input of the geometric parameters of the sawing optimization zone to the computer via the control panel and generation of the system of optimum sawing with the aid of the computer with the rated sequence of the steps of motions of each saw blade in each zone of optimization corresponding to it, automatic output on each step of the rated steps of sequence of steps to the terminal of the control panel of the values of motion of each saw blade in the axes of the machine coordinates, and motion of each saw blade by the values indicated on the terminal of the control panel after the input of the command from the control panel. The machine for realization of the method has at least one saw blade kinematically connected to an electric drive by the mechanism of relative motion of the saw blades along the log with the drive, mechanism of motion of each saw blade in the plane essentially perpendicular to the direction of motion of the movable members of the mechanism relative to the motion of the saw blades along the log and its drives, microprocessor control system with a programmable controller, control panel with a programmable terminal, pickups of the extreme positions of the movable members of the mechanism of relative motion of the saw blades along the log and pickups of monitoring of motions of each saw blade in the plane essentially perpendicular to the direction of motion of the movable members of the mechanism of relative motion of the saw blades along the log, computer with means of generation of the optimum system of log sawing and the sequence of steps corresponding to it, and an interface unit with a conductive decoupling. The unit is made in the form of adapters connected to each other via a cable connector, one of which is connected to the peripheral port of the programmable controller, and the other is installed on the slot of the computer, the programmable controller is made with the function of coupling to the computer. The programmable terminal of the control panel is made with additional image fields for optimization behavior representing the values of motions of each saw blade at each step of the rated sequence of steps in compliance with the optimum system of sawing. EFFECT: enhanced capacity due to selection of the optimum system of sawing, reduced unproductive waste of time during machine operation and enhanced percentage of output of qualitative lumbers. 12 cl, 6 dwg
