METHOD OF ASSEMBLY OF SHIP HULLS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: shipbuilding and ship-repairing; assembly of ship hulls from parts coupled afloat. SUBSTANCE: parts of ship hulls are manufactured separately on slipway. Then, parts to be coupled are marked-out and allowance is cut off, after which units for coupling parts are mounted. Parts thus made are launched and are coupled afloat. The following operations shall be performed before marking-out edges of parts to be connected: determination of draft of part of hull, calculation of ballasting for obtaining similar draft, calculation of elastic lines of hull parts afloat and mounting dock shores in accordance with calculated elastic lines and ballasting. EFFECT: considerable reduction of impairment of relative orientation of parts after launching and coupling. 1 dwg
