A METHOD OF LIQUID-LIQUID EXTRACTION Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical technology and is applied in the processes conducted in a system of a liquid - liquid type under action of an electric current. The method provides for a contact between the aqueous phase containing basic ions of metals and the organic phase containing an extraction agent, with formation of an boundary surface (interface). After that both phases are exposed to action of electrical current. Electrical action is executed through the electrodes placed directly in the phases, which are under a dc voltage ensuring the electrical current flow through the boundary surface (interface) and its high voltage polarization up to the value of voltage, that does not exceed the electric strength of the barrier layer formed on the boundary. EFFECT: the method allows to intensify the processes in the liquid - liquid system, and also to speed up the process of extraction and re-extraction. 8 cl, 1 tbl
