FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparation of compounds having general formula C6F4HX wherein X is Br or Cl, which are important intermediates in synthesis of fluorinated fluorenes. Method is realized by reaction of terafluorobenzene with halogen at molar ratio 1:(0.5-1), respectively, in presence of acid Lewis catalyst (chloride of aluminum, tin, zinc, iron, titanium, or zirconium) in amount between 0.1 and 2.9 wt %.
