FIELD: electrical engineering; battery charging using rectifier-inverter units. SUBSTANCE: device some of whose components perform more than one function has control circuit that functions according to given algorithm and power section control circuit characterized in reduced number of components. Control unit in the form of singlechip microprocessor generates signals in compliance with algorithm for charging and synchronizing from supply-mains to control bidirectional rectifier and bilateral switch. Storage battery connected to rectifier functions as its load. One plate of each of current-limiting capacitors is connected to supply mains. Other plate of charging capacitor is connected to bidirectional controllable rectifier and other plate of discharge capacitor is connected to bilateral switch whose other end is connected to other plate of charging capacitor and to bidirectional controllable rectifier. Limiting current during charging and discharging periods enables rectifier control dispensing with phase control. EFFECT: reduced mass and size of device due to joint execution of some functions by circuit components; simplified circuit arrangement due to reduced number of components. 1 cl, 1 dwg
