FIELD: electric engineering, possible use for quick charging of accumulator batteries based on charge-discharge pulse-duration modulating transformers.
SUBSTANCE: when accumulator battery is connected to device, battery type is determined automatically and charging algorithm, appropriate for accumulator battery type, is selected. Device has control circuit appropriate for given algorithm and circuit for controlling force portion. Control block in form of mono-crystalline microprocessor unit forms signals in accordance to charging algorithm for controlling high-frequency pulse-duration modulating transformers. As load, to charging pulse-duration modulating transformer accumulator battery is connected, the same battery acts as power source for discharging pulse-duration modulating transformer. Signal from current indicator is sent to mono-crystalline microprocessor unit, which sets and maintains necessary level of charging and discharging current in accordance to charging algorithm. Signal from voltage indicator of accumulator battery is sent to mono-crystalline microprocessor unit for controlling process of charging and determining end of charging criterions. Device is meant for quick charging of NiCd, NiMH ventilated, semi-hermetic and hermetic accumulator batteries as well as Li-Ion accumulator batteries.
EFFECT: use of the same elements in circuit of charging and discharging currents, decreased number of elements in force circuit and decreased dimensions of force portion.
