FIELD: back-up or intermediate roll in rolling mills for production of flat products, particularly, band. SUBSTANCE: roll consists of cylindrical core and tube shell rigidly connected with core and coaxially embracing it. Between core and shell the hydraulically axially movable support centers are located, by means of which roll shell rests on core. In so doing, support centers are made with, at least, two circular telescopic pistons located symmetric about middle of roll and isolated relative to core and inside of shell. Support centers consist of several ring-shaped back-up bearings located along outside perimeter of centers and spaced apart each other in longitudinal direction of roll. These bearings can be tight against inside surface of roll shell. Depending upon position of pistons it is possible to make more rigid or more smooth design of roll. EFFECT: increased range of regulation of roll profile; possibility of adopting roll over wide limits to various conditions of rolling. 7 cl, 1 dwg
