FIELD: hydraulic automation. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes determination of flow rate of working fluid under steady-state conditions at different levels of maintained back pressure and stepped change in pressure drop at throttling ports of plunger-type hydraulic distributor, motion of plunger under action of hydrostatic and hydrodynamic forces, angle of escape of working fluid in throttling ports corresponding to magnitude of motion of plunger by means of transparent model of plunger-type hydraulic distributor; method includes also calculation of cross sectional area and wetted perimeter of throttling port corresponding to magnitude of motion of plunger and calculation of flow rate coefficient, flow compression coefficient and Reynolds number by use of definite equations.
