FIELD: electronic engineering; image converters. SUBSTANCE: proposed pyroelectric image converter distinguished from its prototype in enhanced absorption of radiation by its target and provision for shielding its target from alkali metal vapors has evacuated bulb with input window transparent for infrared rays, homogeneous electron flow source in the form of auxiliary photocathode, pyroelectric target incorporating pyroelectric layer covering dielectric carrier film, absorbing layer disposed on input window end, and continuous conducting control layer applied to opposite side of target; absorbing and control layers protect target against detrimental effect of alkali metals from photocathode and at the same time they protect recording device of two-dimensional electron image. EFFECT: enhanced sensitivity and target absorbing ability. 8 cl, 1 dwg
